I'm putting it out there, and I may receive some negative comments because of it, but here goes, I absolutely LOVE winter! I love everything associated with the season that is WINTER! I love its frosty exterior. I love the way a clear sky is transformed by black clouds rolling in over the horizon. I love the leaves blowing off the trees. I love the increased consumption of hot beverages and warm, carbohydrate fuelled meals. I love how red wine and curling up with a good novel is an acceptable Saturday night activity. I love the fashion, the scarves, boots, beanies, trench coats, UGG boots and comfortable trackies. I love how sleeping in becomes a high priority and I love the effect winter has on people. I don't know how, but the cold weather seems to enable people to bond. The gusty winds and rain band together in a force that sends people indoors, into cafes, restaurants, bus shelters, basically anywhere with walls and a roof, united as one by the simple comment of "Gee it's cold out there".
Tonight I'll be spending a glorious winter evening by enjoying....
and reading....
